Welcome to the PalaceHotel.org project
This is where PalaceHotel Software discusses their own PalaceHotel™ software projects. We expose or general philosophy here; or you can also read our blog.
PalaceHotel™ revolves around the idea of Computer-Aided Personal Intelligence, which involves a certain number of problems:
- personal information that resides both on people's own devices (computers, iPhones,...) and online (gmail, flickr,...) must be accessible in a single, unified database in order to be mined sensibly (more...)?
- personal data must be stored in such a way that it is possible to cross-reference it; (more...)?
- it must be possible to filter and re-arrange this information to create an appropriate model for the data mining processes; (more...)
- confidentiality must be ensured; (more...)?
- finally this information must be turned into meaningful visual renditions in order for users to gain new insights and learn about themselves when they consult it; (more...)?
- ideally, these insights should help us develop better behavioural patterns, improve our well-being and relationships with our environment, which is what Personal Intelligence is all about. (more...)?
In order to address these issues, PalaceHotel™ is composed of a number of components:
- a web repository, whose responsibility it is to centralize all of a user's data (open source); this repository is made of modules and is designed to be easily extendable
- protocols and APIs? to let services access this repository in a secure and confidential way (open source);
- any number of user-facing applications that let users configure and feed? the repository with their data;
- personal intelligence services, which connect to the web repository using secure protocols; they typically run on the server-side and can be developed by third parties;
- any number of user-facing apps for filtering and vizualizing? the outputs of the PI services
